About Us
T. Kennedy Auto Sales was established in 1985. Owner-Operator Tom Kennedy is a true car enthusiast and has developed a real passion for the automobile. This no doubt came from his days of hanging around and working at his dad's repair shop and watching his dad racing 1958 V8 powered 348 and 409 Chevys at Maitland Dragway and other racetracks around the Maritimes.
In the following years, Tom worked for his dad, Tom Kennedy Sr., who owned Lansdowne Lodge, a well-known hunting and fishing lodge in the Stewiacke Valley. During these years, Tom Kennedy Jr. became a master hunting and fishing guide and enjoyed guiding sportsmen, hunting our big game animals, and fishing for our world-famous Atlantic salmon. Although this was an outdoorsman's dream job, it only provided seasonal employment. It was at this time that Tom first tried his hand in buying and selling used autos.
Tom bought his first two vehicles for resale in 1985, a 1984 Chevy Chevette and a 1984 Mercury Capri from Budget Rent-a-Car in Halifax. This was the official beginning of T. Kennedy Auto Sales. Tom has since worked for himself as a car dealer for most of his career. He has also worked for four new car dealerships along the way. This provided him with additional, useful experience showing him the value of a good quality used vehicle.
Tom thoroughly enjoys the car business and loves attending the many auctions and the sources available to him today to pursue good quality used vehicles.

"Tom," said one of his customers, "I want a Jeep YJ. 2012, with low kilometres; I can't find one anywhere. I know you can find one for me." Not long afterwards, Tom found him one in Quebec. With several local auctions, access to all auctions worldwide, and many other online resources available, Tom can find it if there is a car.
"Sometimes, at the auctions, it's a thrill for me to go out and be around all the cars, and it's great when I find the real mint car in the corner. The one that I flushed out and found. Then I'm waiting for it to go out to the auction, and I outbid everyone else. It's just like when I'm hunting, and I come home with my game at the end of the day. It's just a good feeling."
